What a great dinner at Bertucci's on Thursday night. Thank you to all our family who showed up for our farewell and thank you to Grandad for so generously picking up the entire tab! Wow.
In the words of MT, we got the party started with a great campfire at Ft. Meade on our last night in Maryland. Nana & Bob, Dotty & Bill, Tina, Amber & Abbey, Michelle, Meghan & Katie. The fire was roaring as we enjoyed a few final hours together. All too soon, the Rathells had to leave and the tears started flowing. After they left, we tried to cheer up the kids by roasting marshmallows and making smores. Michelle really got everyone cracking up as she tried to see how many marshmallows she could stuff in her mouth at once! It was a big sacrifice on her part but she successfully lightened everyone's mood. However, this was temporary as it was time to say goodbye to Meghan and Katie. The 4 best friends for life were sobbing and it was difficult to pry them apart. It tore at all of our hearts. Our Caitlyn cried herself to sleep that night.
Our real "party" began the next morning, Saturday, March 15th, as we set out to Jessup to get the loaded trailer weight and on the road for our second cross country adventure.
