What a day we had. The weather all the way through Arkansas was terrible. High winds and pouring rain and tornado warnings. Caitlyn was definitley our worrier again and also made for a great tornado spotter. We were stunned to actually drive through an area that was hit hard a few weeks ago. We have never seen sheet metal hanging in the tree tops. We also saw a building that had been completely demolished and the path of the tornado that went right across the highway. It was incredible. It was a huge relief when we left Arkansas and made it into Oklahoma where the tornado warnings ended. The pouring rain, high winds and poor visibility continued all day.
We were able to drive through the one stoplight town of Checotah, Oklahoma. The girls were thrilled to see the high school where Carrie Underwood went to school. We took a few pictures (in the pouring rain!) and made it into a KOA off RT. 40 before nightfall. Most of the campsites were completely flooded as they had already gotten over 5 inches of rain. Our host put us on a hill and it continued to rain hard most of the night. Today it is clear but cool. We'll make Amarillo, Texas by nightfall if we're lucky. (guess that makes a new song....)

Lets hope the bad weather is now behind you. We have been enjoying the blog notes and photos. We also are tracking you on the maps as well.
Hi to the kids and that photo of the dog on Bill's shoulder is real cute.

Greetings Dodge Family from the Mosellas!
We're thankful your journey has been safe and are really enjoying the blog updates! Keep them coming, please! It's fun to feel like we're making the journey with you.
It hasn't really sunk in yet that you're gone. Breinny still expects to run into Sharon at the commissary or at Safeway, and still feels like Severn Road is the turn we make to come to see you all.
May God continue to bless your journey and this special time you have together!
Love,
Breinny, Dave, Jacob, Rebecca & Sophia
